Finding out that she and Darius had been lovers was not my favorite twist and that's really all I have to say about her as she didn't provide much else to the narrative. Viv and Darius (I think that's their names) fell in love and were ready to die for each other after 1 day of having met, and it's not like they spent the entire day together or spent hours talking. Are we students at the most prestigious academy in all of Thraina, or are we animals, motivated solely by base lust? I only have the print version, I’d assume the digital version is pretty much the same though I’d hope there’s more flexibility with the layout too. In a parallel plot, Gorman student Carly Schiller—who escapes from an abusive household—grows close with her new roommate, Allison Hadley.Also, Timothée being the bisexual little cinnamon roll that he is makes me want to protect him with my life. In addition, and this may just be nitpicking on my part, but I felt like overall the whole book could have done with a much heavier editing hand. Never mind that Timothée looks exactly like an ancient god who tormented the world thousands of years ago. But with that novela I was kinda disappointed when I saw that only 50% of the book was about the Greywicks. Cannot wait to get my hands on book 2—even tho I’ll definitely be diving into the weekly chapters ASAP.
