Paul first played in the Tamla Tigers as a deputy for Martin Dunsford earlier this year ( 2005) and we are looking forward to him 'depping' again very soon with dates already agreed so as to share the growing load of The Tamla Tigers' schedule of private engagements.
Paul has broad tastes in music but, when it comes to playing, his first choice of instrument has been the guitar and now he has 25 years of experience of bands/live work playing both original material and cover versions. He started playing at the tender age of just seven and he first played in public at only nine (playing solo pieces at the school concert).
Now Paul can boast having played at venues as wide ranging as the middle of a quarry ( yes, really!) to London's Café Royale and from British Army bases in Germany (with a professional band in 1986) to the Brighton Centre. In 1981, he chalked up his début performance at Ronnie Scott's.
The following year, 1982, Melody Maker caught up with Paul when they heard a tape of some of his own songs and an instrumental number. Paul was immediately included in a series Melody Maker ran on 'undiscovered' musicians. Paul can be found regularly playing in a '50's style Rock 'n' Roll band called All Shook Up with occasional gigs playing Italian/Latin style music under the name of The Correlis. Never mind Melody Maker finding Paul, The Tamla Tigers are very glad that now they have discovered the highly talented Paul too!
